In 1925, distinguished individuals with a deep passion for education—described as the ‘Bhagiraths’ of the stream of knowledge—established the Seth Bansidhar Dahigavkar High School Education Society through their tireless efforts.
Celebrating its centenary year from 1925 to 2025, the Seth Bansidhar Dahigavkar High School Education Society has a brilliant tradition of educational, social, and cultural development in the locality. Over the past hundred years, the institution has continuously progressed with the aim of providing quality education, values, and modern opportunities to students from rural areas.
Today, three major departments operate within the institution:
- Primary Department
- Secondary and Higher Secondary Department
- Swami Vivekanand Gyanpeeth
Currently, a total of 5,609 students are receiving education in the institution, with approximately 450 students studying across the 10th-grade divisions. This enrollment highlights the parents’ trust and the educational quality of the institution.
Milestones in Educational Expansion:
- July 11, 1966: Establishment of Seth Bansidhar Primary School.
- 1975: Establishment of Seth Bansidhar Junior Science College.
- 1988: Establishment of Swami Vivekanand Gyanpeeth.
- 2006: Commencement of the Science stream for 11th and 12th grades.
- 2008: Commencement of a second division for the Science stream.
- 2009: Construction of the new building for Swami Vivekanand Gyanpeeth.
- 2020: Commencement of the first Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) in Akola district within this institution.
- Since 1995: Commencement of the School Nutrition/Mid-day Meal Scheme.
